    SEEING JESUS THROUGH MUSLIM EYES

    “Seeing Jesus through Muslim Eyes” – Pastor Gerald Babanezhad will present this seminar on how to reach Muslims for Jesus on Sabbath, November 15, at the Rockwood Adventist Church. Pastor Gerald is the director of Muslim Outreach of the Pacific Union, and is an advisor for the North American Division’s Adventist-Muslim Relations Group. He will present the worship service at 11:00 am, followed by a potluck lunch. Pastor Babanezhad is as comfortable at Carnegie Hall as behind the pulpit, and will present a short piano concert at 1:30 pm. His afternoon seminar will start at 2:00 pm. Violinist Anthea Kreston, who recently moved with her piano trio from the East Coast to Portland, will perform the Sibelius Violin Concerto, Op. 47, in d minor, followed by Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 - also Op. 47, and also in d minor.

Instead, we are encouraging local ladies to attend the Live Streaming at SUNNYSIDE CHURCH, beginning Friday night at 7:00 pm. LENTS WILL HOST A SLUMBER PARTY Saturday night starting at 8:00 pm. Bring your bedding, jammies, favorite snack and Teddy Bears are always welcome! Breakfast will be served Sunday morning and the last Live Streaming session will be shown at Lents (and also at Sunnyside) starting at 10:30 am. This too is free. Have a wonderful time!!!

    The North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC) is seeking applicants to fill the position of General Legal Counsel. The full-time position will be at the NPUC office in Ridgefield, Washington and will be available in January, 2015. Applicants must be licensed and in good standing in the State of Washington or Oregon, and must be willing to secure licensure in the other jurisdiction. Previous experience in the practice of law is preferred. The position will entail being legal counsel for the NPUC and a legal consultant to the local conferences within its territory. The applicant must be willing to focus in the following areas of law: church administration, charitable estate planning, employment law, private school law, church property law, and church-state issues.
