Name & Mission
Our Church Name
The name Seventh-day Adventist includes vital beliefs for us as a Church. 'Adventist' reflects our passionate conviction in the nearness of the soon return ('advent') of Jesus. 'Seventh-day' refers to the Biblical Sabbath which from Creation has always been the seventh day of the week, or Saturday.
Our Church Mission
The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to proclaim to all peoples the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12, leading them to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and to unite with His church, and nurturing them in preparation for His soon return.

Our Oregon Conference Mission & Vision
The main focus of the Oregon Conference is the Gospel Commission to “Go and make disciples of all nations.” We see the immensity of the task and realize that it will take all of us working together under the Holy Spirit’s direction to reach our world. As a result our Vision is: “Powered to Serve -- Members in Ministry.” Every member is important and gifted in some special way to be a part of God’s mission.
The Oregon Conference will continue and will expand that focus in the following areas:
Redeeming
Emphasizing intentional outreach initiatives for all churches
Assessing and equipping churches for greater mission function
Launching a major initiative to reaching metro areas beginning with Portland
Targeting areas for new churches
Retaining

Intentionally welcoming, connecting, and involving new members in the spiritual and social fabric of the local and world church
Ensuring safe environments in churches and schools
Providing annual leadership conferences
Continuing to emphasize youth ministry
