Gladstone, OR- Al Reimche, President of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventist,
to retire after 18 Years in the Oregon Conference.
Pastor Reimche was invited to the Oregon Conference in 1998 as Ministerial Director. In 2001 he became VP of Administration and since 2009 Reimche has served as president of the Oregon Conference. His last day will be December 5, 2016. From there he will see what retirement has in store for him.
Reimche has positively and compassionately lead the conference through both exciting and challenging times. The members in ministry continue to grow. The Oregon Conference schools are growing. New ministries are being formed. Yes, the devil is working hard on each one of us and as an organization, but God is stronger and has called each one of us to be a member in ministry. The slogan formed under Pastor Reimche’s Presidency – “Called by God to Go… Members in Ministry.”
Pastor Reimche states: “It’s been a blessing to see how God’s leading has been evident so many times and in so many ways. I know without a doubt that He will continue to be at the helm. He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever!
As always, I challenge you to keep your eyes on Jesus and to continue to be the “Members in Ministry” that God has called you to be. May God keep you faithful to His calling so that soon we will be able to celebrate together in that great reunion in heaven.”
The North Pacific Union Conference President will begin the process of gathering names of candidates for the next president within the next few months. Once this is completed the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Nominating Committee, which is comprised of those elected at the last constituency meeting, will then meet with the Oregon Conference Executive Committee and vote together on the new president. The goal is to have the new president voted in by January, 2017.
